H. (Skip) Maginniss, AIA, LEED BD+C
President
Mr. Maginniss received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1967 and a Masters of Architecture with the AIA school medal from Washington University in 1970. After graduation Mr. Maginniss worked in Vienna, Austria for Ottokar Uhl. He traveled extensively, studied European architecture and wrote for professional publications. In 1972 he was a member of the design team that won a major housing competition in Austria. He obtained other significant experience during employment with Vincent G. Kling and The Ballinger Company, where he was responsible for a variety of government, corporate and institutional projects. In 1976 he co-founded Bairley & Maginniss, AIA (now Maginniss + Del Ninno, Architects).
Mr. Maginniss is a member of the AIA, and the NCARB. He has taught at local colleges, and served on community committees. In 1981, he received the President’s medal from Mt. St. Mary’s College, Emmitsburg, Maryland; in 1989, he received the Architect of the Year award from the D.C. CEAS. He is registered in Washington, D.C., Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, West Virginia, Florida, and Ohio. He is an ICC certified plan reviewer, holds an NCARB certificate and is LEED certified.
Theresa del Ninno, AIA, LEED BD+C
Vice President/Secretary
Theresa del Ninno attended the University of Notre Dame, where she received a Bachelor of Architecture Degree in 1981. She has substantial international experience. As an undergraduate, she studied for a year in Rome and later managed her own consulting practice in Guinea, West Africa, and Dhaka, Bangladesh
She acquired significant experience as both a designer and project manager through work experience on a wide range of project types, including commercial office buildings, office interiors, custom residences, educational facilities, and medical facilities with design firms in Minneapolis, Minnesota and Alexandria, Virginia.
In 2006 she became a principal of the firm, and has designed and managed educational, commercial and residential projects that have received design awards. She maintains membership in the American Institute of Architects and is active in the Architects in Education program that places architect volunteers in public school classrooms. In 2009, she spoke at the national School Building Expo in Philadelphia. She is a registered architect in the state of Minnesota and Virginia, and is LEED certified.
Mary B. Maginniss, MBA, CFP

Mary Maginniss received her Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Mary’s College, South Bend, Indiana, with a major in Humanistic Studies and minors in mathematics and chemistry. She received an MBA, with a concentration in finance and managerial economics, from George Mason University. In 1999, she graduated from the College of Financial Planning in Denver, CO, and was subsequently awarded a designation as Certified Financial Planner.
Mary’s professional career has focused on providing objective financial analyses to individuals and organizations. Prior to joining Maginniss+Del Ninno as Chief Financial Officer, Mary was a Director at Harris SBSB, where she was responsible for developing, delivering and implementing comprehensive financial plans and investment strategies for high net worth individuals.
With a focus on public policy rather than individuals, Mary worked over 20 years as a principal analyst at the Congressional Budget Office. In 1988, CBO recognized her with the Director’s Award for Outstanding Service.
Mary is a member of and served as Treasurer of Women in Housing and Finance, and belongs to the Financial Planning Association. Committed to philanthropy and the role it plays in the community, she was a founding member of the Philanthropy Forum at Wolf Trap, and currently serves on the Professional Advisory Board of the Alexandria Community Trust. Mary has provided financial literacy workshops to low-income women in an effort to help them, as consumers, make smart financial decisions. She served as member of the volunteer committee to provide financial planning, on a pro bono basis, to families of victims of the September 11, 2001 and Virginia Tech tragedies.
